You don't need a GP referral to see any of our Exercise Physiologists.
However, you may be eligible for Medicare support toward Exercise Physiology services. Through a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP), your GP can provide a referral for up to 5 Medicare-subsidised Exercise Physiology sessions. These rebates help reduce the out-of-pocket cost of your sessions.

On your initial visit, your Exercise Physiologist will help you understand your current state of health, the lifestyle behaviours and risk factors which may be affecting you and the goals you wish to achieve.
In addition to completing a movement assessment, you’ll undertake relevant exercise, strength or function testing using state-of-the-art VALD equipment. You’ll also be guided safely through supervised and structured exercises.
Your Exercise Physiologist will then formulate an action plan specific to your needs, which will include homework! This will include a tailored exercise program based on evidence based practice. We use an exercise prescription software (a free download for IOS & Android) for ease of understanding and monitoring of adherence and pain levels.

We recommend wearing clothing suitable for the gym, with closed in footwear like trainers. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle and a small sweat towel.
What People Are Saying
“As a Vietnam Veteran, I have been referred to Atrium for a physical assessment and ongoing management for my chronic conditions, which are a result of my military service. The team at Atrium are very motivated, extremely helpful, patient and communicate clearly. They have been focussing on my spinal mobility and improving both my posture and core strength. I would highly recommend Atrium to help anyone who would like to improve their physical well-being and take positive steps towards achieving their health and fitness goals.”
— David C.
“I was referred to Atrium by my doctor and I have not looked back. I have multiple sclerosis and I was at a low ebb at the time, trying to juggle work and family and failing miserably. I decided to take my life in hand and Atrium tailored a program to meet my health goals and needs that fitted into my lifestyle perfectly. The week I began the programme I put my back out at work and he immediately emailed me a series of exercises that relieved the pain. On top of that, the team are great and are extremely encouraging and supportive. I cannot recommend them highly enough.”
— Sue W.
“Atrium has been guiding me through my remedial training sessions for over a year now and I am extremely happy with his management. The team have an almost limitless repertoire of exercises and has always been able to find a way around my back, knee and shoulder injuries. I am now able to maintain a better than average level of overall fitness. They are very cognisant of my needs, monitor me closely and never push me too far. I highly recommend Atrium for anyone who has physical injuries and for anyone who thinks he is getting too old to exercise safely.”
